In the spirit of Elul – a moving tour of forgiveness, prayer, and reflection in the Old City
“Why are you sleeping? Rise and call upon your God.” Join us for a unique nighttime Selichot tour inspired by the month of Elul and the High Holy Days.
Through the winding alleys of Jerusalem’s Old City, we’ll explore themes of repentance, forgiveness, the shofar, and customs like kaparot – with a mix of Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions. Along the way, we’ll hear piyutim (liturgical poems), midrashim, and deep, meaningful stories.
We’ll meet the “greatest sinner in the Bible,” hear about hell on earth, and stand at the spot believed to be the foundation of creation.
Highlights include King David’s Tomb, the Cardo, the Four Sephardic Synagogues, rooftop views, and a final breathtaking lookout toward the Western Wall.
